That solution, you ask? Your ultimate hair solution is known as the Max Hydration Method, and it works best for your natural hair.
What is the Max Hydration Method?
The Max Hydration Method was designed for those who have hair that they just can’t manage. It works by methodically increasing your hairs moisture level. It does this by using a specific process that is typically going to be 4 to 5 steps. It just depends upon whom you are asking and what they consider to be one of the steps. While the Max Hydration Method was specifically designed to help those who had type 4 hair, it works the best if you have type 4C hair with low porosity. While it can work with other types of hair as well, you are going to see the absolute best results if your hair has low porosity and is type 4C hair.
Why do you want to do the Max Hydration Method?
While this method is not for everybody, it is for those who are experiencing some serious issues with having the wash and go hair that you have always dreamed of having. So if this is you, keep reading to discover how to finally get the hair that you have only been able to dream about having. In fact, there are many people who do use the Max Hydration Method and will swear that it is the best thing that they have ever done for themselves.
What makes this method so exciting for those who need to use it, is that it is extremely effective for taking your frizzy, dry hair, and transform them into a full head of beautiful and moisturized curls and coils. On top of turning your hair into beautiful perfection, it will also help you out if you are having any issues with knots, length retention, or dryness. So if you are having any of these problems with your hair, or have been struggling with for a while now, all of those problems will disappear after your hair has achieved its maximum hydration.
Doing the Max Hydration Method on Types 4a, 4b, and 4c Hair
For the Max Hydration Method to be its most effective, you are going to need to use the method for one full week, or 7 days in a row. While that may sound like a long time to be working on your hair, if you are serious about getting the beautiful, moisture hair that you don’t currently have, 7 days is really not that long.
If you plan on being successful while using this method, there are some supplies that you are going to need. Those supplies, consist of:
- Cherry Lola Caramel Treatment
- Apple cider vinegar or baking soda rinse
- Deep moisturizing conditioner
- A clay rinse
- Some type of leave in conditioner
- Finally, a botanical gel
Now that you have all of the supplies that you are going to need, this is the exact method that you are going to want to use. Simply follow the steps one at a time, and with each successfully completed step, you will be that much closer to the perfect hair that you have always wanted.
Step #1: The Cherry Lola Caramel Treatment
If this is going to be your very first time trying the Max Hydration Method, you must know that the very first step is to give yourself the Cherry Lola Caramel Treatment. What this treatment is going to do, is to help your hair get ready to achieve its optimal moisture level, as well as help open up all of the hair cuticles. Having your hair cuticles is going to be one of the most crucial steps if you are going to achieve your maximum hydration. While this extra step is one that can’t be missed, there is an upside moving forwards. After you have already successfully completed this step the first time, it does not have to be done regularly. In fact, it can actually be done sparingly from there on out. What you are going to need in order to do this treatment, is going to be:
- Greek yogurt (2 cups)
- Organic apple cider vinegar (2 tbsp)
- Soy aminos/raw coconut (2 tbsp)
- Baking soda (2 tbsp)
- Raw honey (1/2 tbsp)
- Avocado (3/4 tbsp)
- Unsulphured molasses (1 tbsp)
- Ripe banana or plantain (1/2 over)
- An egg (optional)
You are going to get started by blending all of the above listed ingredients together in a blender or mixer. Keep in mind that you are not going to want to make this mixture too thick. If it is too thick, you may find that you will have chunks of avocado and bananas mixed in with your hair. At the same time, you are not going to want to make the mixture too runny either. If it is too runny, your mixture is going to run all over your face and just make a big mess.
If this is the first time that you will be trying the Max Hydration Method, you are going to want to skip the apple cider vinegar/baking soda rinse. Once you have your concoction made, you want to be sure that you coat every and all of your hair using a shower cap. Once that’s done, leave the mixture and your hair alone for the next 90 to 120 minutes before rinsing it out with the use of warm water.
Step #2: Cleaning
Having clean hair is a very important part of this method working successfully. To achieve this, you are going to want to clean your hair with either organic apple cider vinegar, or a baking soda rinse. For the baking soda, simply mix ½ tbsp of baking soda and 1/3 cup conditioner in a spray bottle. Be sure to saturate your hair and let it set for up to an hour. After that, rinse our your hair. For the apple cider rinse, combine one part vinegar to one part water and repeat the same process.
Step #3: Wash and Detangle
For this, use the sulphate free conditioner and then detangle all of your hair using your preferred method of choice. Put the conditioner in your hair and let set for up to 20 minutes before rinsing.
Step #4: Clay Rinse
Next up is the clay rinse. For this combine:
- Bentonite clay (1 cup)
- Raw honey (1 tbsp)
- Olive Oil (1tbsp)
- Warm water (1 ½ cups)
Once everything is mixed, apply it to your hair and cover with a shower cap. Let set for about 15 minutes and then rinse the concoction out.
Step #5: Botanical Leave-in
In this step, apply your leave-in conditioner. Make sure that it is applied from your roots all the way to the tips. Once you have successfully applied the leave-in conditioner, follow with the botanical curl gel to really make those curls pop.
Once you have completed day 1, repeat the second to fifth steps for the next 6 consecutive days. Enjoy having nice, manageable hair!
