Born Fred Lee Scruggs Jr., Fredro Starr is a record producer, and actor, an author, and a rapper. He was born on the 18th of April. 1971 and is famous for being a member of Onyx, a popular rap group. Prior to embarking on a solo career, Fredro Starr was a part of Onyx’s success story and the three platinum albums that the group released. Fredro was first noticed by Jam Master Jay who was responsible for giving Onyx a platform after signing the group to his record label. While still a part of Onyx, Fredro got a number of nominations and went on to win some personal awards. He won the award for “Rap and Hip-Hop New Artist’ in 1994 in the American Music Awards. Still, in 1994, he won ‘Best Rap Album” on Soul Train Music Awards.

Fredro was not just a member of the group “Onyx’, he was also responsible for bringing the group into existence. He created this rap group after he graduated from high school in 1988. In this group were Suave and Big DS. A year after creating this group, Jeffrey Harris became their manager. With Jeffery Harris as their manager, Onyx was able to get a contract which led to the production of the single “Ah, And We Do It Like This’.
After a successful spell with Onyx, Fredro went solo in 2000. As a move to go solo, Fredro penned down a contract with Koch records. This contract was followed by the release of a mixed tape. A year after releasing a mixed tape with Koch records, Starr went on to release an album. This album was named “Firestarr”. A decade after the release of his first album as a solo artist, Fredro started his label in Los Angeles. This label is known as ‘Mad Money Movement’.
