Johnson Publishing Company—home to Ebony and Jet magazines and ebonyjet.com—is honored to congratulate president-elect Barack Obama on his historic election, a victory for all of America. We look forward to his transformational leadership as he works to improve the United States and its critical economic, environmental and social imperatives. We know that his powerful message of hope will help strengthen the country and inspire the world. As the first African-American to be elected president, Barack Obama knows intuitively how to bring change and build the bridges that will unite the nation.

As a 47 year old African American who has lived abroad for the past 21 years and who was raised in Memphis I can only say I hope that my Daughter remembers me sitting on the couch in Australia crying tears of joy and that she remembers the words I said when she asked "Why you crying Daddy?,Daddy is just happy to be a Black Man that's all Swettie."
God Bless America and Barack Obama

I agree wholeheartedly with the comments of the CEO of my fab magazines. President-Elect Obama has the potential to be and I know that he will be a very, very good president and leader of the world. All ready America has gained respect in the world since the election.
Being the first BLACK PRESIDENT, the senator will be looked upon very closely and people will not be disappointed. America is on the healing road and just maybe the color of ones skin is beginning to NOT make a difference.
